About Keyphrases
Unlike an Intent, a Keyphrase relies one specific phrase or word to trigger recognition and further action. Using Keyphrases in a scenario leads to much less flexibility on what the learner can say to have their meaning recognized. Keyphrases are useful in the following circumstances:
A learner wants to use their voice to perform a repeated action, like bringing up a help widget or an inventory menu. The Keyphrase “Help Me” or “Inventory” would trigger these actions
There is only one right way to say something or you want to enforce the use of one specific turn of phrase
You want to present the learner with specific choices in a conversational scenario and have them verbally dictate what they see on a screen to vs speaking freely (this kind of scenario is less fraught with potential error)
How is a Keyphrase Created and Used?
Keyphrases, like Intents, are added to a catalog and then can be used in resources or conditions. For example, in this Speech Recognition Condition, it will evaluate to “true” when the Keyphrase “Help Me” is said by the learner.
