Installing a VR App from an App Lab Invitation

Overview

In some cases, you will receive an invitation to install a VR app on your headset. This is usually the case for people going through Motive Academy authoring courses.

This article describes how to:

  • Accept an invitation for a VR app to be installed on your headset via App Lab

  • Install and run the app after the invite has been accepted

Once the invitation is sent, you will receive an email. If you have been invited to install more than one VR app, there will be one invitation email per app. Follow the steps below for

Accept the Invitation

 

Important: The invitation will be sent to the email address which is linked to your Meta Quest headset. Make sure to check that account.

 

  • Check your inbox for an invitation. It will look like this:

  • Click “this link” to accept the invitation

  • This will open a web browser window

    • If you are not already logged in with your Meta, or Oculus or Facebook account, you will be asked to do so.

    • Remember to login with the same credentials associated with your headset.

  • Once you do, you will see this page:

At this point, the invitation has been accepted. Put on your headset to install the app.

Install the VR App

 

  • In your headset click on the grid of squares to view all of your apps.

  • The app will have ‘App Lab’ text overlayed on the picture.

 

  • Click the app to install it.

  • You’re ready to use the app!
