Teleport Pads give users a simple way to quickly navigate to important areas of a Scene. There are two styles in the SDK, but they can be further customized to fit particular needs.

Default Teleport Pad

Notes

  • Usage: User points-and-clicks on Target to warp to Pad

  • Billboard ensures the Target always faces the user

    • Disable the Billboard Script to lock the Target in place

  • The image on the Pad can be used to gauge floor height

    • It is not shown at runtime

  • When moving the Pad, make sure to have the root object selected. Often you will accidentally move only the Target, leading to confusing results.

Notes

  • Uses a different icon, this can be changed on the “Icon” object

  • In this case, the Pad is in the attached hallway, allowing the user to “exit” the room by clicking the Exit button:
