Definition

The Launchers feature allows you to create a manual Launcher so that a learner can access a training module. This is used if you are not using a LMS integration. If you would like to distribute content through an LMS, launch codes get generated automatically. The learner would instead see the launch code when they start their LMS training:

A Launcher connects a Launchers allow learners to connect to the learning. With a Module created, you can create a Launcher. A Launcher connects the Module to a 6-digit launch code. When the launch code is used to launch the training module in the headset, the data collected is connected to the learner specified in the Launcher.

This is a manual method if you are not using an LMS integration.Typically, Launchers are used for testing purposes and we recommend using the LMS integration to generate launch codes within the LMS.

To Access Launchers:

1. Choose the Organization, if more than one

2. Choose the Launch Space

3. Click “Content Management”

4. Click “Launchers”

Launchers Actions:

5. Refresh the Launchers list if any changes are made

6. Create a Launcher

7. Search for a specific Launcher

8. Edit the Launcher

9. Delete the Launcher

10. If there is a WebGL version of the training that has been uploaded, it can be launched here

Create a Launcher

Note

Only individuals with the Launch Organization Admin or Launch Organization Member can complete these steps

Ensure that the Module for the appropriate training has already been completed before proceeding.1.

  1. Login to Motive

You should be viewing the HUB area that displays the areas you have permissions to access. This can include Launch, Storyflow and Manage Organization. In the example below, we are logged into the account for the company Lakeview Inc. and the individual accessing HUB has permissions for all three areas:

5. Click on Launchers “Launchers”in the left menu

If Single Use and Max Usage Amount details are not set, the launch code will be active an unlimited amount of times.

Using the Launch Code

Once you have the launch code, the learner would follow these steps:

Device Authentication

1. Put on headset and log into VR training

2. Click on Connect“Connect”:

3. Take down the code:

4. Navigate to the URL and enter the code.

5. The Launch Experience Menu should now appear.
