In depth learning on Configuring Joints can be found in this course in Motive Academy.
Name | Description |
---|---|
Limit Motion | If true, limits the motion of the Joint to a certain range along the axis. |
Lower Limit | The lower limit along the axis that this Joint can reach. 0 is the starting position of the Joint. |
Upper Limit | The upper limit along the axis that this Joint can reach. |
Upper Stop | Snap Position: Snap the Joint into the position of the upper bound when the Joint is within a certain range. This is useful for mimicking machinery that snaps parts into place as users move them. Snap Threshold: The threshold from the lower bound in which to apply the snap force. Limit Threshold: The threshold from the lower bound in which to fire the “In Limit” and “On Limit Reached” events. In Limit: Fired when a Joint is inside the limit. Fires on Start as well as when a Joint newly enters the limit. On Limit Reached: Only fired when a Joint newly enters a limit (i.e. not on Start). Distinguished from In Limit for applying effects only when a Joint moves into a limit (e.g. haptic). On Limit Exited: Fires when a Joint leaves a limit as defined by the Limit Threshold. Snap Force: Force to apply to the joint if Snap Position is true and the Joint is within the Snap Threshold. |
Lower Stop | As above, except for the Lower Stop. |
