Timers can be used in an experience to record the amount of time a learner has taken to complete a task.
Here is an example of Timers in use. A user is given some tasks to complete, above them we can see a Timer Output with the total time elapsed, and then the time for each task and the total time is reported in the assessment at the end.
The following resources can be used by other timer related resources as timer sources.
The Stopwatch will start recording time from the moment that the resource is activated, and will finish the moment it is deactivated in Storyflow.
Playable content will start recording time from the moment the resource is activated, and will finish the the playable content is closed.
Object interaction will start recording time from the moment the resource is activated, and will finish when the interaction is completed.
The Timer Output will display the currently elapsed of the selected Timer Source. If the timer source has finished, it will display the total elapsed time of that timer source. Time output can also be used as a countdown timer. If is countdown is selected, the timer will count down from following countdown start time. This resource must be attached to an anchor.
Timed Outcome is an assessment item that can be used to display the time elapsed from a timer source. This resource will get a timespan value from a variable as an input. This is used in an user assessment just like any other assessment Item
To get a timespan from a timer source, first create a TimeSpan Variable. Drag the variable into the frame and select Timer Source Selector.
